Janet Cheney

Communications Manager/ Staff Interpreter

Janet Cheney is the Communications Manager working to schedule interpreters for a 20 County area and does some interpreting in and out of the office. Her Grandparents were deaf and her Mother was very involved in the grassroots growth of RID. She received a lot of informal training and then professional training in interpreting from Maryville College and worked for a long time as a free lance interpreter before joining the KCD staff full time.
